Daar sta je dan met een kloppend hartje te wachten op het vliegveld in de aankomsthal. Je kijkt naar de deuren waar ieder moment een bench met een hondje doorheen kan komen. Ja, daar is ze! eindelijk! De eerste kennismaking met je hondje. Dat lieve mooie hondje dat de hele reis van het asiel Opvang Greet/ Union Animal naar Nederland alleen heeft afgelegd en vanaf nu bij jou hoort. De Podencoworld aankomstbegeleider/ster neemt jullie mee naar een rustig plekje in de aankomsthal om het hondje het tuigje om te doen en uit de bench te laten. Wat een juweeltje van een hond, zó lief! Wat blijkt, er is nog een verrassing. Het hondje heeft ook nog een speciaal voor haar gemaakt tasje meegekregen!
Weet je wie dat tasje heeft gemaakt? Nieves!
Nieves is een vrijwilligster bij Opvang Greet/ Union Animal en naast dat zij haar hart, ziel en zaligheid inzet om zo goed mogelijk voor de asielhondjes te zorgen, maakt ze ook nog eens prachtige tasjes. Iedere keer als er een hondje via Podencoworld naar Nederland toekomt, maakt ze een one-of-a-kind tasje! Ze tekent er het betreffende hondje op, versiert het met haar of zijn naam en met allemaal kleuren en symbolen maakt ze er een ontzettend mooi tasje van.
Maar niet alleen de adoptant krijgt zo’n geweldige eyecatcher, ook de vluchtbegeleider/ster krijgt een unieke tas “Ik was vluchtbegeleider van Malika” bijvoorbeeld.
Dit vinden we zó lief van je, Nieves, dat we je daarom vandaag in het zonnetje zetten en natuurlijk heel, heel hartelijk bedanken voor dit geweldige gebaar! (en natuurlijk ook voor al je tijd en liefde die je aan de asielhondjes besteedt). Een ❤️ voor een groot hart!

The Podencoworld arrival coordinator will take you to a quiet spot in the arrivals hall to put the dog's harness on and release it out of the bench. What a gem of a dog, so sweet! Turns out, there's another surprise.
The dog also received a bag specially made for her! Do you know who made that bag? Nieves! Nieves is a volunteer at Opvang Greet / Union Animal and besides putting her heart and soul into taking the best possible care of the shelter dogs, she also makes beautiful bags. Every time a dog comes to the Netherlands via Podencoworld, she makes a one-of-a-kind bag! She draws the dog on it, decorates it with her or his name and together with all kinds of colors and symbols she makes a very beautiful bag. But not only the new dog owner receives such a great eye-catcher, the flight attendant of the dog also receives a unique bag which says “I was Malika's flight attendant”, for example.
This is so sweet of you, Nieves, that we're putting you in the spotlight today and of course give you a big, big thank you for this wonderful gesture! (and of course also for all your time and love you spend on the shelter dogs). A ❤️ for a big heart! We hope we are going to see many more of these beautiful bags of yours (dog included, well... so to speak).
